I was really happy at lunchtime. Had ham salad followed by a Solero (19 carbs) and BGs were at 7.7 after an hour (this is the reading that I need to stabilise) - a rise of just 1.1 and back down to 6.7 after 2 hours. (The bike ride before lunch may have helped but I'll be quite happy if I can get away with the occasional ice cream with a bit of exercise!)

Had salad again for dinner. This time with breaded fish (14 carbs) followed by sugar free jelly, a few raspberries and greek yoghurt. 9.6 after one hour (from 6.1 before dinner) and they only came down to 8.2 after two hours. Will try again tomorrow but with plain trout but it looks like this type of fish will be off the menu!

Going to try fruit salad and greek yoghurt for breakfast tomorrow. I'm hoping that will be OK as I really like fruit.

Breaded and battered fish, no matter how low in carbs, always give me really bad peaks. Gave up, and cook fish wrapped in foil with veg and sauces, done in oven.

Thanks Grazer. Good to know it's not just me. I don't like battered fish but we (almost) always have fish for dinner on Friday. I'd already chosen a lower carb option and dropped the chips.
Desperate to get my eyes sorted but my doctor thinks I should have stable BGs for a month before I get them re-tested and it's the one hour spikes she didn't like!

Lidl do a salmon steak without breadcrumbs covering it, in the freezer section, very tasty.

Will do, but its such a shambles, we need the mod. to organise them into sub sections, to tidy it up.
