Hi everyone!

Is anyone around the forum using onetouch verio iq? I got it from the free giveaway and I really like it, but I've found a lot of opinions that it tends to read higher than other meters... I'm not sure if it's true, I don't remember seeing much difference with my other meter and my DSN knew the Verio and was happy for me to switch to it. I wouldn't give much thought to those opinions online, but my A1C seems lower than what my readings say. For example, according to my CGM average (calibrated with the verio) my a1c should be around 1% higher than it is (yes, my A1C is LOWER than I expect it to be)... Even given the "standard" inaccuracy of the meters 1% A1C difference is quite a lot... or maybe not?

Any opinions? :)

Hi,

One thing to consider is A1C estimated on the meter or even the indevidual BS readings Inputed into an app like "Diaconnect" is worked out differently to the 3 monthly blood test at the clinic.. The labs also have more accurate tech as do the hospitals..

I may be talking rot..?! :p

I'm estimating a1c based on continuous readings from a cgm and the value is supposed to be close to the lab test. I can understand if it's not, but I'm still interested if anyone has any experience with verio iq being inaccurate or different from other meters?

I did a bg just now: 7.5 on verio iq, 7.4 on freestyle optimum neo. So can't say there's a difference. I'll be interested to know if anyone found anything wrong with verio iq readings.
