I think you need to insist on seeing a specialist. It is the only way that your pain/problems will be sorted. Good luck for the future.
Shygirl, I am shocked by your ageist statement. Life is precious regardless of age. (Take it from one who knows).  In an ideal world we would all get first rate care. Sadly that is not the norm as this forum bears out but please don't think that the younger that you are then the more is your entitlement. Everyone, regardless of age, wants to be healthy and have their diabetes related problems sorted by the best available tests and expertise. Please don't consign us to the scrap heap yet.
Catherine.

I was referred back in Feb without even being told so i'm not sure why you are still being seen by your clinic? I hate to sound ageist but at our age we need more care in a way as we could (hopefully) live for another 40 plus years.
Remember that the G in GP stands for GENERAL. One thing i've learnt in 2009 is that when problems do occur you need access to a specialist.
Good Luck!
