By mistake, I spilled a few test strips on my bed this morning. I did three tests - fine. I popped all the strips, one by one, back into the meter and two gave me error messages. None of the others have given me an error message so do I assume I can use all of the remaining ones or will I have to throw them all out?

Was there anything on the bed? I sometimes spill some strips when I use my Freestyle meter and I just pop them back in the tub being careful to hold them by the edges.
When you say you put them in the meter before returning them to the tub, if they didn't have blood in that could be the cause of the error.
Sorry - I meant they spilled on the case so wouldn't have picked up anything! But the ones I used also got "mixed up" with them. The two with blood on them were the ones that gave error messages. It;s just one in that small pile that I've used. I think I will put them in an empty tub ..... and ponder! lol Some week! lol
Ah, I get you! What I've done in similar circumstances is look at the strips and throw out any ones with obvious blood on (this is usually obvious on my Freestyle strips). I've then put the other spilt strips in an old tub so I know they're potentially 'off'. I then use them from this tub and if in doubt, use a 'safe' one from a new tub to check.

If a strip comes up with a error message just discard it and use the next one, I've spilled the contents of many a test strip container and they are still fine to use provided they are not contaminated, the area of the strip where blood is drawn in has a protective film so usually there little chance of them being contaminated anyway.
It should show a error message, maybe once you apply the blood and the countdown begins the message will appear, all the meters I've used (Acu-Chek, Bayer) come up with a error message if you accidentally use a used test strip.
