Hi all
I've been getting oral thrush repeatedly since Spring, following 3 back-to-back courses of antibiotics. The GP at that time said it was caused by the ABs and gave me some gel to put on it. I did have blood tests then, which showed nothing (including neg for diabetes). Fast forward to November, when I went back to GP (saw a different one this time) following months of feeling unwell, tired, thirsty and still getting the oral thrush - hence more blood tests and the positive T2 result.
My GP seems unsure as to whether the thrush is caused by the diabetes, or is due to a food allergy (I have other health issues going on too). She said it could be either, but meanwhile I am still suffering with it almost daily (the gel stuff doesn't really work). She's told me to mention it to the dietician (who I am seeing on 5 Dec) who may send me for allergy testing.
Do any of you suffer with oral thrush with your diabetes, and especially on an ongoing basis?
Thanks in advance, Sue
