The puzzle that is Asperger syndrome that I still can't fit together.
Hi!

With my erratic blood sugars I suffer a lot with thrush in the trouser department but the last few days I have developed a very sore mouth and sore bright red tongue that is covered in a white thrush type yeast and I was wondering if any one else here had gone through a similar situation and did they get it sorted out easy enough? at this rate with my high blood sugar and yeast infections my blood is going to ferment and turn into grog!!

Thankfully it's something that has never really Effected me. It is fairly common in diabetics though, particularly if your sugars aren't well controlled - something to do with changing the ph of your skin. You'll be able to get something for it from your doctor or possibly even the pharmacist. If it's recurrent then I would see a doctor as you may need to take something a little stronger.

It's also important that you get your sugars under control (which I'm sure you know already!) otherwise thrush is the least of your worries.

Hope you get it sorted soon :)

Thanks Em!

I didn't know that it could affect the mouth so thanks for the info!
I'm seeing the endocrinologist on april 12th as no oral meds, low carbing has got my blood sugars out of the 20's or 30's and even meat, salad and cheese spike me high so all I can do for now is keep an eye out for ketones and wait for the appointment and pray he'll prescribe me something that'll work.

I hope they can prescribe you something. You must feel lousy with your sugars being that high. Let us know you get on.

Thanks!
Will let you know how I get on.

Paul :)

One of my daughters was born with oral thrush. You get some tablets (medicine in my daughters case) and it clears up quickly. I hope your doctor will realise that you need extra help with your sugars and obliges. You did make me laugh with the grog though, not heard that saying for a long time. :D

Good luck.

My teenage son got oral thrush recently, after chewing the inside of his cheek and then hooking up with a new girlfriend (I'm saying nothing :***: ). He used a tube of gel that the pharmacist recommended and it went pretty quickly.

Thanks everyone!
I feel much happier now I know it's easily treated!

obviously it's best to seek medical advice as well. Have heard that taking cinammon in tablet or powder form helps and posssibly even helps to lower blood sugar. I put it in homemade soups, curries and sprinkle on porridge. Its about building up a resistance not just temporarily recovering from it. Let me know how you get on.
