I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in approx. 2006. I was diet controlled and then put on Metformin twice a day. Meter and test strips refused. I developed cardiomyopathy and atrial fibrillation just over a year ago. Two cardio-versions failed and I'm now on medication. BUT while I was waiting for my cardio-version I was put on Amiodarone. I attend Weightwatchers to lose weight and was horrifed that after this I put on ONE stone in about 4 weeks. The Amiodarone seems to have affected my thyroid levels so I am really glad that I am no longer taking amiodarone. It also affected my INR levels. Now I have extra weight to lose I have bought my own meter and test strips as the practice refuses type 2's. My lunchtime reading 2 hours after meals seems to be over 10.00 on a regular basis. I take Metformin in the morning and the evening should I now be asking to take Metformin at lunchtime as well. My diet uses the WW ponts system along with a careful watch on the recommended portions from each group by Diabetes.co.uk. I only see the DSN every six months or so.

Hi and welcome to the forum.
I am sorry to hear of your other health problems and the effects of medication that you experienced.
There are others here that use WW to lose weight. I hope that some of them respond to this post.
Have you seen the advice for newly diagnosed? Is this what you are referring to in your post?
