Due to the tablets I take for HBP, my ankles are swollen and I feel them painful when I walk. Should I let my doc know?

Yes, see your GP. Any new symptom that is connected to hbp should be reported to your gp, it may be a simple change in meds or additional meds could resolve the issue but you must get an appointment as soon as you can. Best of luck, swollen ankles are no fun. In the meantime try raising your feet to allow the fluid to drain.

my husband had the same after changing his BP medication, he went back to the doctor who changed it. He now has lovely ankles. So yes, get it looked at.
