Hi all!
I've been having problems with a pain in my legs - it's hard to describe, but it's kind of a numbing pain with a feeling like something is ripping my muscle out from the inside, located mostly in the back of my legs (muscles). It's sensitive to touch, so I cannot sit and lay down and standing in painful as well. The least painful position is laying on my belly...
My DSN said it's not caused by diabetes, "because neuropathy is pins and needles". My GP was more helpful and he ordered a B12 vitamin test and an MRI that I'm getting done later this week.
The thing is, since I saw my GP I stopped injecting my Novorapid in my left leg (which was the most painful) and the pain disappeared! I was previously rotating my Novo between my belly and left leg because I was getting a lot of bruising. I still inject my Levemir in my right leg. Right leg was never very painful, rather a bit uncomfortable, and this seems to continue.
Last week, for a test, I injected a small amount of Novo (3 units) in my left leg and the pain was back. I was hurting like crazy for the whole day (I injected in the morning)
I keep injecting novo in my belly now, but it's basically covered in bruises :\ Injecting in buttocks seems to hurt a lot and I don't like the idea of injecting in my arms, as I'm sure it will hurt even more. I inserted my previous dexcom sensor in my arm and it was hurting for 2 days :\ So legs and belly seem like my only injection spots...
Has anyone ever heard of injections causing something like this? It doesn't seem to be specific for Novo, since my right leg with Levemir is also uncomfortable (I'm guessing it's not hurting as much, since Levemir is being absorbed much slower?).
