I have been having problems with pain in hands and feet. I have had type 1 for 23 years. I am now taking nortryptiline morphine patches duloxatine and diclofenac. Sorry spellings not my strong point. I am taking these but they're now not as affective as they were this time last year when I started taking them. My feet hurt so much at night I can't have duvet touch them. I am also now in a wheel chair. I have put on 3 stones in weight. Doctor does not seemed concerned. My question to you is should I advise the Dr that the pain is back worse than ever. I'm scared that I will put on even more weight when they jiggle tablets around again. The chair lift I got fitted a few months ago can't take much more weight. Problem is my bathroom and bedroom are on the top floor. I know I did this to myself. If only I had taken care better years ago but I can't change that just want to have some kind of a future. I also now having kidney and bowl problems. Dr thinks this is due to neuropathy too.

Hi Evette,

So sorry to hear you're having problems. You should absolutely tell your doctor about the pain and make sure you hammer home the impact it is having on you. I'd also talk to him/her about your weight concerns and are if there is anything they can do to help.

Make an appointment ASAP and let us know how you get on.

Good luck ad take care

Emma
