I am also type 2 - controlled by diet, exercise and metformin.
I would always advise you to take advice from a pharmacist or doctor if you have any concerns at all. Each of us are individual, and are well advised to get advice from someone who knows our own medical situation, including the the medications we take as well as medical conditions.
I, personally, usually talk to a pharmacist about all things drug-related. Which means my boyfriend as he's a pharmacist.
I have just had the best part of a week trying to get rid of a migraine. It was really bad for a day or so, and the pain, but not visual disturbances, lingers on for 3-4 days.
Anyway, I've been taking paracetamol and codeine for the pain, plus ibuprofen and even add in aspirin for the really bad days. My boyfriend is a pharmacist so, on his advice, I am quite happy to take all those pills, but only on a VERY short term basis. More than one day, maybe into a second, and I'm off to the doctors.
I've taken ibrprofen for a few weeks in the past on my doctor's advice. We have also discussed my occasional migraines so, as well as my OH's professional advise, my GP is also happy for me to take paracetamol (including paracetamol and codeine for migraines) and ibuprofen.
She has never mentioned anything to me in relation to my diabetes. I just take them according to the instructions on the pack. Especially any medication with paracetamol in it!
