Oh dear, Kev - you have had a torrid time.

The only time I had a sort of neuropathic pain was after an op when I'd had a couple of ribs scraped, like a trimmed lamb joint (I know,........... you'll never fancy lamb again!) Anyway, cutting to the chase, I didn't need to take meds, aside from when it got really irritated, then I'd take some Neurofen. Over time it just went away, until I am now pain-free.

Some of our member colleagues have used a supplement called R-ALA with some success. If my memory serves me well, @Bluetit1802 had great results with it.

Either way, my post will bump your thread up the lists back into view.

I do hope you get some relief. Pain can be incredibly draining - but you know that already!

I do take R-ALA supplements, but they aren't pain killers. They are for neuropathy. I had neuropathy caused by chemotherapy well before I was diagnosed diabetic. It wasn't painful, just uncomfortable with some burning, but nothing too drastic. The R-ALA has taken it away completely. I stopped taking it for a few months and it came back, so I'm back on it again and it's gone again. Good stuff for neuropathy.
