Following a trip to the hospital the other week I was prescribed 400mg Ibuprofen (with or after food). In the blurb that comes with one's tablets it clearly states "Do not take these tablets if..."
You suffer from:
High Blood pressure (yes)
Diabetes (yes)
High Cholesterol (yes)
and several other contraindications!
The casualty doctor was aware I have these conditions, but still prescribed Ibuprofen. Having read the sheet that came with the tablets I'm concerned about taking them.
I'm sitting typing this in pain, yet almost afraid to take the tablets. What am I to do? Whom am I to believe?

You could try ringing NHS direct or your local Health centre for advice. I suffer from hip pains and take Ibuprofen wthout anything drastic happening, except pain relief.

I too suffer from high blood pressure, controlled by medication and diabetes. My doctor will not prescribe ibuprofen for me because of my condition. I take paracetemol for moderate pain. Recently as I am suffering from frozen shoulder he has prescribed co-dydramol. Hope this helps.
