Is there any decent drug out there to combat Neuropathy ? I was given Duloxadene & Gabapentin & both don't work . I have severe pain from groin to ankle in right leg & it's making things unbearable my leg is unstable & I'm in constant pain .
Any help would be great .
Thankyou .

Hi, I have recently been tested and thankfully have no neuropathy at all. One thing that could very well help would be getting your diabetes under control. What kind of figures are you getting? Poor control will make all the 'opathys worse, while getting good control may ease them. Tell us what your control is like, and what kind of foods you eat, and we may be able to help. We are not Doctors, but ordinary diabetics who through personal experience can often put what seems a really bad problem into context by helping get things right.

I wish you well.

Sorry can't help JG, go back to your gp and say the drugs you are taking are having no effect on the pain, hopefully they'll be able to prescribe something different to help with the pain.

Hello...
I am currently using pregablin combined with co-codamol as painrelief with my neuropathy pain.
I do find wearing the correct orthotic handmade footwear helps too.
Was referred to my hospital for them - have had 3 pairs made.
The colder winter weather does make the neuropathy 'much worse!' have to wear my thermal seam
free socks then.
Keep my feet cosy and get my feet/lower legs massaged 2-3 times a week with diprobase cream.
This helps my circulation and skin condition improve.
It 'isnt' pleasant or nice to suffer with neuropathy pain in your legs/feet.
It can keep people awake all night in pain from it.
Please 'do' pop back to see your GP explain things to him/her and ask for something
to help relieve the symptoms and the pain.
Anna.

My levels are reasonably good , last HB1AC was 5.9% & my diet is good also but my pain started after falling out of bed & now I can barely walk I've never really recovered from last years Kidney failure & severe sepsis .
