Hi Everyone,

I was diagnosed T2 on the 1st Sep 2011.
When i first started taking metformin my legs really hurt from the knee down, but if i get up and walk around it disappears and i am pain free.
This disappeared after a few weeks but now it is back with a vengeance.
My doctor has checked my circulation and it is fine
I have no pain or discomfort when walking and moving around but as soon as i sit down it is terrible.

I am taking 2 500mg metformin
pottasium supplemtn
magnesium supplemtn
I have lost 25kg and curretnly weigh 129kg
Any advice would be great

Clint

Hi Clint

Well done on losing the weight. That is certainly a good step in the right direction. How are you getting on with your blood sugars?

Pain in the legs while they are at rest could indicate venous congestion or restless leg syndrome. Both these conditions improve with movement. Are the supplements you are taking on prescription/medical advice?

Take care

Doug

Hi Doug,

My BG levels are generally good with no readings over 6.5 in the last 2 months.
I have dicussed the supplements with my gp and she agreed that it would benefit me to take them.
As you say if i remain mobile the pain disappears.
Thanks for replying

Clint
