Does anyone here do the paleo way of living as opposed to low carb high fat?
I don't know if I could love without dairy , especially cheese, but there seems to be more paleo recipes/ forums etc available on the matter
As donnellysdogs say mix the 2 ways so you get the best of both worlds but if you saw bbc1's truth about fat, dairy is good for us in many ways, so mix & match you get both.
I like the Paleo emphasis on real food as opposed to processed, but there's a bit of a LC backlash among certain Paleo bloggers that puts me off. Plus there seems to be a lot of "watering down" of original principles for market share going on. I like Mark's "carbohydrate curve" based on metabolic factors: http://www.marksdailyapple.com/press/the-primal-blueprint-diagrams/#axzz3WTgVIuna
Real food LCHF (like the Diet Doctor's site) is basically Primal as far as I can tell. The other issue with Paleo is that a lot of processed junk food companies in the US are jumping on the bandwagon - about as authentically Paleo as the junk food produced by the Atkins food company is authentically Atkins.
I don't do "the" paleo diet. I do "a" paleo diet and LCHF. To me that means minimally processed foods, lots of fresh veg, no grains, no milk, no veg oil, no rice, no starchy veg, but yes to cheese and meat and coffee. I recently cut out artificial sweeteners.
