Palmitoylethanolamide--anyone heard of it/used it?

I recall reading about PEA some time ago. Back in 2015 its main supply source was the Netherlands.
I am quite impressed by its properties and therapeutic effects.
Could it be that its profit margin is not attractive to drug companies and thus the expensive options are promoted ahead of the simpler ones??

Looked it up online and it's sold as a supplement (and not a cheap one), but I think it might be worth a try for anyone with who has chronic pain.
