I was diagnosed in April with Type 2, very high numbers. Lifestyle changes and medication have improved things significantly. My first HbA1c in August was 45 as opposed to 103 in April. My own tests show numbers between 5 and 7. But I've just had a week of family celebrations in hotels and have been eating and drinking too much (I normally don't drink) and eating lots of sugar and carbs. I got home today and tested - 11.2. I am so scared now and I have my next 3 month test in 2 weeks.

Well, your next HbA1c will be higher than it might have been without the "celebrations", but you know what needs to be done. Put the party week behind you and do what you were doing between April and August. Also, learn from the experience. Think about what you could do differently without appearing a total misery, in party type circumstances. This might be a good exercise on the run up to Christmas.
