I am 77.Diagnosed T2 1997. Now can add Parkinsons to the list since2023. was taken off metformin because of stomach problems and put on Glimepiride and trulicity. BGs now high HbA1c 72 up from 63 since I stopped metformin and indegistion and gallbladder rumblings were gone. But because of parkinsons my movement is slow so less exercise now.
BMI 27 used to be 31
I don't drink, I have reduced my carb intake (a little) and still my BG went up. But testing during the day the readings are always around 9-12 mmol/mol whether in the morning or after a meal (3 hours). I feel so much better now since baking my own bread and eating a lot of fruit and only 3 chocolate suggestives per day.
But life is more boring now because I can't get out as much. Thanks goodness for ITVX and boxed sets. I am fortunate in that I have little or no pain now and I still have my driving licence.
Question does PD affect DM2 or vice versa?
