I assume you are referring to the Libre sensors.
Currently, different CCGs have different criteria for qualifying for Libre on the NHS. From 1st April, the criteria will be unified throughout England. However, the news (there is a lot about it) says the NHS (or NICE) only expect 25% of people to qualify with the new criteria.
So, yes, many many many many people are having problems getting Libre.
Take a look around the forum, use the Search field in the top right of the page to find all the threads on "Lbre" and you will find some stories and the criteria that will be used from 1st April,
However, the Libre is not a silver bullet. Some people find they are allergic to the glue used, some people find them inaccurate, some people find they fall off.
I have been told I do not qualify so self fund one sensor every 6 weeks. I am lucky not to have an allergic reaction but it is definitely not accurate for me. It does not replace finger pricks. I use the Libre for the trends not the absolute values. Combined with more accurate finger pricks, I can work out my insulin doses and whether I am safe to drive. For example, if my finger prick tells me my BG is 5.4 and Libre tells me it is falling fast, I do not feel I am safe to drive, whereas if my finger prick says 4.3 and my Libre tells me it is rising, I am ok to drive.
