On Thursday last, I attended my local surgery to hear a talk from the Diabetes Tutor. I learnt nothing more than the (to me) unhelpful unspecific"pap" that was doled out at the DESMOND course I attended, Not a mention was made about LCHF by any of the speakers, and though I raised the subject, the conversation was quickly closed down.
What I did learn (more worryingly) is that Surgeries across the Country are facing reductions of 4% budget cuts nationwide, which was revealed by the Practice Manager as a value of £24 Million. It would be a smart move to monitor and report back how services in your own areas are curtailed for Diabetic treatment in the foresseable future. Further, whilst I recognise LCHF will not be everybody's solution, so many people have reported benefitting from it on this site, that it should at least be raised as a potential health improver to the newly diagnosed, by the authorities, who are looking to have to raise £6 Billion over the next 3 years to pay for Diabetic Treatment for the population.
If this is not the right place to raise this "rant", my aplogies!
