PCOS... and possibly Type 2?

tingest

Newbie
Hi everyone! I saw lilyh94 post here and her situation seems similar to mine, though not so much on the symptoms so thought I will clarify my doubts here. I'm 24 this year, just got diagnosed with PCOS last month and have recently experienced certain symptoms which is making me rather worried. For my PCOS the gynae said it was more of a case of hormonal imbalance so I got prescribed birth control pills but I hate them cause they always give me tears down there!

I experienced frequent urination and oh god this could be bad sometimes hourly sometimes not so but definitely more than 8 times a day!! And it's a large amount of urine too :p
Itching skin around my groin, and a slight spot on my arm. It comes and goes from time to time and it's not too bad.
I've just started experiencing some digestion issues since Saturday and it just makes me feel queasy.
I have headaches that comes and goes and they are not excruciating or painful but feels more like a contraction? I thought it was tension headache but now figured it could be related to diabetes.
Starting to get some frequent backaches...? which made me think if it could be another issue but all the symptoms seemed to point towards T2 diabetes.

I'm going to get a blood test done tmr for diabetes fingers crossed!
Just hope anyone could shed some light about this or have any comments or advice? I would greatly appreciate it.
I'm just very worried and upset now because everything seems to be going downhill and I've been experiencing tremendous stress at work and constantly ill for last few weeks...
Life is just so hard sometimes... :(

Hi @tingest and welcome to the forum.

There are other posters here who have experienced PCOS and they will reply.

Wait and see what the blood tests results are to see if you have diabetes or not. As you will understand nobody here is capable of giving you a diagnosis. It may be that there is something else going on and eliminating diabetes from possible causes of you feeling unwell means that your G.P. will have to either do more tests or refer you to a Consultant.

If your results show that you are pre-diabetic or have diabetes then don't worry as there is tremendous support and information on this forum and posters will help all they can.

I know it is easy to say do not worry but stress is the last thing you need right now as it is known to raise blood sugars.

Here's hoping you soon get the blood test results and are able to move forward as the not knowing can be equally as bad.

((((hugs))))

Hello, thinking of you , glad you are having blood tests tomorrow ....let us know how you get on ...take care ..Kat

adelle0607 was in a similar place as you.. search her name and cpos on this site.
you may find you have higher ALT in the blood test, indicating fatty liver too..it seems to be a package deal.
while you are waiting for the test, google metabolic syndrome.

also the same diet helps with all three things, LCHF

@jack412 Thanks for the info! I've googled metabolic syndrome and all of these sound so overwhelming for me at once. I monitor my blood pressure regularly and it is always on the low range so I'm hoping and guessing I'm cleared for that. As for the cholesterol and blood sugar I will have to wait till tmr... And my BMI is about 17.9... on the underweight range so I don't know if those are applicable for me too. Nevertheless it was useful reading all the posts especially those by @Adelle0607 ! Thank you so much!

Hi,

I have PCOS since long ago, insulin resistant, high cholesterol, fatty liver (metabolic syndrome) but I am new type 2 since january, I'd say keep an eye on it. My eyes went very blurry, thirst, and I got really bad sickness feeling that didn't go away, felt very weak and with absolutely no energy. Get yourself checked out ASAP
