Too many to mention! Breakdown in respectful & courteous manners probably tops the list.
My PN has worsened considerably ever since my BSL have spun out of control about 2 months ago, in addition to high BP. I now have temperature numbness - cannot feel hot or cold in my feet - but can feel the slightest touch still. This is so odd to me. In addition, this morning when I woke, I realised that my left foot was warm but my right foot was cold. Can anyone suggest to me what is going on here???

Is temperature numbness fairly easy to remedy upon good control, etc?

Obviously everyone's different, but my neuropathy symptoms have completely disappeared since I did the dafne course and got my BGs under control. I was getting nasty tingling sensations, my feet felt like I'd tied rubber bands round my toes, my entire right side went numb, then swapped to my entire left side being numb, and I kept feeling like something had dripped onto my hand! It was driving me utterly mental. But as soon as I started reining in my BGs it all just went.

So yes, there is still hope! You just need to try and get your BGs under control. Have you done any carb counting courses or spoken to your diabetes team?

Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks for your reply. Can you just give me some more details about your experience? What were your numbers like before? What were your BS levels after & now? And how long did it take for the PN to go away? I have heard that it can take years for this to happen, so am really interesting in knowing the timeframe in your case.

Yes I am getting extra guidance in carb counting as well as getting onto the new analogue insulins Levemir & a fast acting one soon. I'm seeing my diabetes nurse educator tomorrow.

Can I also ask you how long you've been a Type 1 as well?

Thanks again
