Anybody there suffering from neuropathy? I have tingly feet and slight numbness of lower legs and feet - but also suffer from lower spinal problems and MRI indicates nerve compression. Soooo - what's causing the tingling and numbness, the back or the diabetes? Each consultant is taking ownership of it!
Diagnosed 10+ yrs ago - Type 2 on insulin. Struggling a bit with control at present. Views welcome! Thx.

as for what is causing your tingling/numbness, it's most likely the neuropathy as it is the most common symptom.

I have seen the effects of neuropathy on T1 husband and would like to help anyone else avoid it. the ONLY annswer is TIGHT control. Keep below 7 at all times and it might well go away.
You can increase medication, but I think that cutting carb intake is safer. It's hard at first, but you get used to doing without the "white stuff". Remeber carbs are addictive and getting rid of them, for some people, is almost as bad as giving up smoking. I never smoked and am not finding being nearly carb free too difficult. It has taken some thought, because I can't afford the low carb foods available to buy on the interweb.

If they know where in your spine you have compression they should be able to work out if the tingling in lower legs is caused by that particular compression depending on which nerve it is pressing on.
