Thanks for the Info, I'm type 2 but on insulin so monitoring is very important to me. See attached tested / approved list from Abbots you see they do not list the A50 but the A52 appears to have been tested !I use a Samsung A50. Works well until Bluetooth is turned on when performance across all apps degrades. Being a T2 I don't need the alarms so I turn Bluetooth off most of the time and only turn it on when I want to do a scan.
I'm hoping more recent Samsungs/android phones don't have this problem
Thankyou - I hope this info will Help people looking to find a phone that will work for them.Just switched from Android, Huawei P60, which I had a love hate relationship with, but it was no bother running the Libre Freestyle app for the Libre 2. Had to remember to put it on charge every night, and thought it might be on its last legs, it is over 5 years old. We actually bought a Samsung S24, at the same time that I got switched to Libre 3.
It did not work! When I eventually found the Abbott list of ‘approved’ / ‘function with our sensor’ phones.. the s24 was not there! I gather it has a different kind of NFC reader.. the thing that initially connects a new sensor to the phone and does the wizzy thing with contactless payments.
I spent a very miserable 24 hours without a sensor and doing finger pricks.. and mainly staying in bed as I felt so rubbish. Then had to resurrect the poor sacked Huawei to run the new Libre 3.
Very luckily the electrical shop allowed us to return the phone and gave us a refund in the form of a gift token. The receipt specifically excluded mobile phones from the store’s 30 day returns policy.
I decided in the end to switch to an iPhone and got the 15 for a bit more money than the Samsung.
The s24ultra works with the Libre 3, but it is too big and heavy for me to carry round.
Hopefully the staff in the two branches of the electrical store we went to to find a new phone are now a bit more savvy about phones and CGM’s.
I guess I was very lucky that the old Huawei was compatible with the CGM’s, as it predated my diagnosis.
i think as people come to update their phones they need to be very careful which one they chose. I told the original sales guy that I wanted a phone that could do 2 things.. take nice pictures and run my CGM….
Department S I believe - Sadly I remember EP's tooI have just come across your avatar @Is Vic There ? I bought the EP 2 years ago having first heard this when it first came out. Great piece!

Hi , thanks for your response on this , they sent me a Reader too and I find it very easy to use , a lot easier to use than the app especially on my Motorola Pro 50 where I have to keep reloading the app to get a reading. Also the reading sometimes takes an age - can be very slooow. Personally I'm glad they sent me the meter, now they just have to improve the app to work better on current phones. I laso wish the reader posted my results to the online account.I have spoken to Abbott as my phone isn't on the compatibility list. Sony Xperia 1 VI. Last Sony phone on their list is Sony Xperia 1 III (2021). However if you want a Samsung, all the latest phones are there especially the latest which is 2 months old. I don't like Samsung, I don't want a Samsung.
Brand snobbery by them or something else?
Oh we'll send you a reader to use whilst we work on it. Anyone else used a reader? That 150dB alarm does nothing but scare the brown stuff out of me in the middle of the night. I much prefer my phone notification at an appropriate volume.
Anyone else having the same issue?
