Well done ally1 so pleased to hear your news.Over the past couple of years, I had tried claiming PIP, I had been refused a couple of times even failing at the tribunial stage.
I tried again and went for an assessment on the 15th May. A week later, I requested a report of the assessment which I was happy with.
I have now heard, I have been awarded the enhanced rate for care. Did, t get mobility rate but I am out regarding that.
I am over the moon, I applied for having bipolar. All that I sent with the form was a photocopy of my prescription. They didn't, t even write to my Gp or Psych. .
I do think that helped me at the assessment was that there was another assessed in the room who was assessing the asesser assessing me.
I do get assessed again in 18 months time.
So anyone going through with PIP, just keep trying
It sounds promising. I was turned down by phone and told to apply for jsa. That's when I started with panic attacks. I knew I wasn't capable of work after working for just under 30yrs and through 2 diabetic pregnancies. I know what I'm capable of and even working part-time would be near on impossible.Well done ally1 so pleased to hear your news.
I am still waiting for decision from my ESA assessment 24th May hopefully I will be like you successful.
Once again well done x
I wouldn't fret too much. We thought the same thing when our son changed from dla to pip. It seems it's just a formality when renewals are done to change over to pip. We just filled out the forms as normal and he was given the exact same money as he was on for dla. We did photocopy all if his last dla forms before we sent them off last time for his renewal. When we got the pip forms to fill in we put exactly the same answers. He has high functioning autism with ADHD, tourettes and rage.My son (ASD, ADHD, learning difficulties) has to transfer from DLA to PIP when he turns 16 in a months time. I'm dreading the forms - he's been on DLA since he was 8, so it's been such a long time since I last had to do them
Hi have a look in phone book and find your local disability information centre as they will help you fill out the form and how to word everything properly so the pip understands what your trying to get across but make sure you put what your absolute worse day is like so if your in bed all day then put that some put “oh well I can get up if I have help” what you need to say is your stuck in bed Allday and someone has to come in to sort your kids for you.My son (ASD, ADHD, learning difficulties) has to transfer from DLA to PIP when he turns 16 in a months time. They were very under standing and paid us what we were owed.My mobility has got worse but I'm not reapplying til my renewal.
I have forms to fill in for 5yr old. DLA form nearly as bad as PIP forms. Having to hand in late due to pain sitting too long gives me agony and 2 hospital admissions with untreated anaemia. God knows what they'll say.

I hope your son is successful. It is best if someone goes with him and try and tell them his difficulties affecting his day to day compared to his comrades. Is it noted he isn't independant with his gp or any specialist? He must prove his independence is affected. I hope he has back up.My son is going through PIP, he has many medical conditions, including PTS, OCD, Bi-polar, ADHD, Sarcoidosis and other's. He was awarded disability at the higher rate, but with a slight improvement in breathing, it was stopped, so he appealed and was given the lower rate. He is awaiting an assessment appointment in another town. Good to hear you had some good news with PIP, it should be given to those who need it, but alas that is not always the case. This is just one of many google links :-
