Plan D - Subsection B, Para 2

Ok, well the blinkin Sitaglyptin wasn't doing anything - I did think of accusing my GP of prescribing a placebo - so these are joining the Novorapid on the shelf and we're off and running on Plan D

My DSN has booked me in for a C-Peptide test to see whether my darling pancreas is producing any insulin worth stimulating. This is good because I thought I'd have to pay for it myself. In the meantime I'm back on a small amount of Lantus and keeping the carbs low.

Personally, I preferred plan E which involved a glass of white wine with every meal, including breakfast, but my local diabetic liaison officer (herself) thinks this is a bad idea.

I have also ordered some Almond Flour today (go Whitby) and I'm waiting for the Melon & Cinnamon tablets to arrive. I never said it was a focussed plan.

onward ...

The puzzle that is Asperger syndrome that I still can't fit together.
Sorry things haven't gone as well as you'd have wanted! :(
You've tried your best and the C-Peptide test will probably confirm what you already know about your pancreas but at least you'll know for sure and won't feel as down about things-I too haven't responded to oral meds and I'm hoping the diabeatologist at the hospital can sort me out as the GP has told me he's done all he can do.(He no longer believes I'm type 2 and need more specialist tests)
I'll go with whatever gives me control back so I feel well again and if it means insulin I'll do it.
Onwards and upwards

Undeserving authority figures of all kinds and idiots.
Sound like progress swimmer whatever the outcome. Hope you're feeling a bit happier about things.

Swimmer... although frustrating the positive news is that you are getting the tests that you need... at least once these are done you will know what medications / regime will work for you and then you can go about sorting it out.. Your doing all the right things so just keep doing those and it will get fixed in the end... the NHS moves slowly but it does move!

Diet drinks - the artificial sweeteners taste vile.
Having to forswear foods I have loved all my life.
Trying to find low carb meals when eating out.
I would go with the white wine medication - if it works then you can write a new diet book

Seems to work for me (apart from breakfast, that is, but I am now thinking about it).
