If you are diabetic you certainly shouldn't be taking anything that will raise your blood sugars, so you may have to make a change to your meds.
Not always true sometimes you have to take the hit for the greater good
and use BG meds to combat the hit, All depends what other ailments you have
can go the other way as well
My old GP also had a knee jerk reaction
When he found out i was diabetic removed all my arthritic drugs there and then.
I take a few drugs that do effect my BG , I take them at different times to meals
to lower the effect ,also some drugs can lower BG not always make them go higher
example Naproxen can lower mine.
I would book a second appointment with GP try ask for a double time slot
as normally only give you 8<>10 min, Make a list of questions to ask if your like me your forget
something ,,take someone with you less likely to fob you off
and ask GP to explain to you whats going on ,and what treatment path he advises
and do you need to see a consultant
Be it diabetic or not
