Please help im away from home and need advice

Im away from home visiting family. I came to do my insulin and realised I've not brought a spare insulin as I only have enough for next day. Im not returning home till another 3 days so I will be left without insulin for 2 days. I have my repeat prescription on me but no prescription. How can I get some insulin? Im stuck and panicing.
 
hi am noosrat and first thing dont panic your bs will shoot up! next try to eat things which have low carbs in it where u will not need to take carbs in bolus. next try to find a nearby pharmacy n buy the insulin :D

Go along to any NHS hospital or drop in centre and explain your predicament and they'll issue you with an emergency supply of insulin, alternatively ring your gp practise up and ask them to fax a prescription through to a local chemist where you are staying.

I've done the same thing too many times! Just pop into a pharmacy and you'll be able to buy a pen. When I've done it, the pharmacist just asks for your doctor's address. Novorapid and Lantus are around a tenner a pen and I've been allowed to buy them individually.
 
If you ring NHS direct they will tell you what to do I dont think you need to pay for insulin if you usually get it free on prescription
