Please what is the best time to check your blood sugar level

- Whelks,winkles... All crustaceous seafood except prawns. Can't do crab.lobster or scallops.
Don't like the way they are killed and cooked. Save our Scallops. SOS !!!
Also HATE evaporated milk.

I always do a test in the morning about 1/2 an hour after waking up and before I drink my morning cuppa.
It is always anything from 5-2 to 7.4.
It was 7.4 this morning and I really want to know why it is erratic.
My Diabetic nurse has said she wants 1 test a day.
I want to do more but I won't get the strips otherwise but I still want to know what my fasting reading is.

A-up little bit more info needed I think
Eg what type do you have
When were you diagnosed (only because it will help those who know understand your situation and offer more taylored advice)
Are you on medication and if so what
Are you on any kind of diet if so what or even if it a new to you diet
I usuall test in the morning and have been doing before a meal and 2 hours after. However I now know what results I can expect from certain things I am eating and am going to start checking only when it is something I have not eaten since starting to test. And probably after exerscise and at night. Or of course if I am feeling rough
