Annual check-up, semi-retired, sensible GP in her early seventies. She checked BP and feet, both fine, congratulated me on my HbA1c of 32 and asked how I did it. I said: LCHF. Yes, she said, that's a sensible way to eat when you have diabetes. She then prescribed test strips as she could clearly see it helped me to test.
Oh, and good Cholesterol too, LDL 2.6, HDL 1.8, trigs 0.7 and total 4.9. Never had so good cholesterol before.I live mainly on butter.
She was a bit puzzled and asked if really had been diagnosed as my HbA1c has been normal for a while and never was very high as I was low carbing already. I told her about the OGTT result of 14 a couple of years ago.
I'm not the only DT2 on LCHF with HbA1c in the low thirties.
