Not diabetic but I think I am
So I always feel tired
I always need a drink
I always feel like I'm really hyper
I'm
To scared to get tested
Sent from the Diabetes Forum App[/ before i was diagnosed i was tied, i drank loads of drinks mostly through the night, honestly i was on the toilet about 15 times a night, then my eyes affected me , i couldnt read the car number plates and i started to loose weight big style. i eventually went to the doctors a simple blood test and a sample of urine told the full story. i was diabetic type 1 told ill be on insulin 4 injections a day, i was sent to the hospital diabetic clinic given a perscription for all the equipment and given my insulin pens, the needles are very thin and small you can hardly see them so there dont hurt, theres loads of backing the diabetic nurses are a phone call away, theres loads of booklets and on line diabetes groups. like this one which i think is the best.
Tymv just out of interest how many carbs do sweets haveHey welcome to the clubOnly the best can join if you fit and healthy pfft you are not going to keep an eye on your health... how unhealthy.
T2 isn't that bad read through the forums, Daisy will bang up a load of info. And everyone on here is great. As you have come here and made a big start it means you want to do the right things with your health and this is the best place to start. If you are into sport diabetes will not slow you down, lots of folks on here able to give advice on how to do things, if you are not sporty it is an excuse to start getting fit I am actually fitter now than l was before the diagnosis.
If you like your chocolate check out the chocolate paradise in the low carb forum and also the recipes in the low carb forum. If you worried about diet no need plenty there.
It also means that if someone is offering you something you really don't want to eat or drink it is a great excuse "Sorry Diabetic"
Inside you arel have used the excuse about 2x so far (diagnosed Nov 13). The great thing is even if you can eat/drink the item the person knows no better when you mutter your excuse and you don't upset them.
Always ask questions of us of Dr's and of your diabetic nurse, if you are not sure or embarrassed message someone they can always try help privately but always always ask questions, the worst or dumbest question is the one you never asked.

A carb (carbohydrate) is another word for sugar. Sweets unless you know to be low carb (ie a recipe you know is low carb and has been made to that recipe exactly) are just blocks of sugar.
Just look at them as out of your mouth from now on that is safest way to deal with them. If you like chocolate go for lowest carb. I eat Lindt 90% dark it is very low carb think about 18gram/100gram.
Normally the foods l eat have a maximum of 5grams/100gram but l make an exception for a treat like the lindt and have maximum 2 slices at a time once a day at most. usually after dinner so it digests more slowly with all the food.
