Polycystic Ovaries/Byetta questions.

Did anyone else have polycystic ovaries before learning they had diabetes?

I first discovered I'd developed polycystic ovaries when I had trouble becoming pregnant. Looking back the signs were probably there right from childhood, I started my periods well before my ninth birthday. When I eventually became pregnant ( thank you metformin and clomid ) I had gestational diabetes and had a stillbirth at 38 weeks. My next pregnancy I used insulin and the baby was delivered at 35 weeks safely ( thank you wonderful diabetes team! ). My diabetes disappeared for awhile following the birth but then hit back in full strength after about 6 months or so. I now take 1500mg of metformin and my body is really suffering. I have zero energy, all the gastrointestinal upsets and I have a constant period. I'm on constant antibiotics as I have endless infections.

My doctor now wants me to take Byetta, first I have ever heard of the drug...

Anyone know of or have any similar history? Any success stories regarding Byetta?

I really need more energy, I struggle to get through the day and although I work now I am finding it really really hard to juggle work, family and being ill constantly.

My last HbA1c ( June 2010 ) was 9.9 :/
