Hiya,

I've posted elsewhere about my hate/hate relationship with the Lantus that I used to be on and my ability to fall asleep anywhere just by closing my eyes.
My problem now is that I seem to be unable to break out of the habit that I seem to have developed of being able to sit in front of the television for example, fall asleep and then wake up at 2am and think, "I should be in bed by now..."
I don't know whether I'm just screwed up because of my age, screwed up because I'm unable to switch off from work when I get home or whether it's the combination of Lantus/Novorapid that I was on or the combination of Levemir/Novorapid that I'm on now.

Does anybody else have a rubbish sleep pattern since they started on any of these insulins? If so, have you been able to switch to something else to get away from them?

I'm getting to the end of the rope with this...

Thanks in advance

Loads of things effect sleep patterns. Stress, caffeine, alcohol, drugs, how light/dark the room you sleep in is, the bed, noise, time of year, habits, worry, what time you eat, age, blood sugar levels, mental health problems, etc etc. I'm sure you'll find lots of suggestions about how to improve sleep patterns if you Google, there are quick and easy things you can try.

Eg A good quality mattress, ear plugs, and blackout curtains really helped me be less tired during the day due to less disturbed sleep. If you are sleeping in front of the TV, you might have quite disturbed sleep too.

What time do you fall asleep when watching TV? Could you make sure you are always on your way to bed by this time?

lol@me replying to a post about poor sleep patterns at 2 am... It's not the novorapid or levemir causing it though! I'm worried about having to get up in time in the morning, so I cannot sleep, so I worry that I will be tired in the morning so not be able to get ready in time, so cannot sleep, so will be tired, and so on!!
