So I’ve had this nasty bad throat turned to cough and bad throat to cold cough and bad throat.
On my meds recently if I don’t eat quick enough I drop to 4s and 5s. My last 4 was Monday. Since then I can’t get below 6. Assuming this is just me running higher because I’m poorly.
But last night I was awake for hours coughing. So to add to everything else I’m pooped.
Today I bought some sugar free cough medicine.
My thought is the cough and no sleep is making sugars run higher so if the medicine helps this it’s a better devil.
What do you guys think?
I haven’t slept well all week due to this in one form or other.
Thinking no option is good but having the extra medicine whilst not brilliant might outweigh the other

I would just double check that there are no known interactions between your cough medicine and the meds you are already on.

Not that I am suggesting there will be, but just good practice for anyone who is one meds and then introduces something else.

There are several drug interaction checkers online. These are just two of them.

I hope you feel better soon. It is a time of year that makes illness even more inconvenient than usual!

It’s not accepting the cough medicine as a drug. Just keeps saying needs two.
So assuming must be ok

You enter the medication you are already on for diabetes (or any other condition such as Metformin, or Jardiance, or Gliclazide, or bp medication, or steroids, or pain killers)
Then you enter the active ingredient, or drug name that you are just starting (in this case, the active ingredient of the cough medicine)
and the website checks to see if there are contraindications between them.

I’ll recheck.

Check with the pharmacist who will advise. My husband is on a number of pills for various ailments so I always check before buying any over the counter meds as I’m not sure how his drugs will interact etc.
