I was 5.1 prior to the meal, I know that for many the numbers are not high and yes l am pleased as l do my best to keep them low. My D/nurse said upto 8 she was happy up to 10 she was a grump but alright but definatly hacked off if over 10
I am a she by the way to those who thought l was a he.
I have tested myself many times on the sweet potatoes and know the effect they have and on me l get a very small rise for upto 120gram of sweet potato boiled or nuked in the microwave.
I know it may well be the rice hence a test tonight with fish, cabbage and same amount of rice. l didnt think 50g of rice was a lot as l say about 5 weeks is not a long time to try and learn all l can about food/amount and effects and still learning it was a genuine question.
I have had pork with other foods as stated that with other food have not put me up but the pork has put me up when l put that into the meal. Yes the rice would l am sure have given the extra kick up. My question though was could the pork on other readings have been a factor in for me a very high reading.
The comments about liver releasing glucose made sense and also the glycaemix data was on about the load and l guess reading that it could be the combination is causing a higher reading. When we get some more pork l will do a pork only test many thanks for that idea.
My general readings seem to range from 4.5 (before meals) to about 5.8 (post meals) l have been into the 6.+ ocassionaly and several times when pork has been present (with safe foods that have not put me up in the past) hence my hesitant comments as l realise pork is protien.
