Type 1 Positive BGLs / insulin resistance Minera coil

Type 1, age 41, diagnosed age 27.
Prescribed progesterone pill 3 years ago to see if it would ease the (*shall I call an ambulance this time?*) extreme period pain / likely endometriosis. After a month on the pill my periods stopped, the pains stopped and I noticed i was in range throughout the month. But after 3 months I experienced muscle loss (I'm normally 5ft 7 and 9 stone - I lost over a stone), gum recession, peridontitis, tooth abscesses, facial nerve pain and lost a tooth, my mood flatlined, libido packed its bags, severe headaches (thanks gynecologist for not warning me - if I hadn't worked for the nhs all my life I'd file for negligence) so I stopped the pill after 6 months and soon felt much better, regained my normal weight, mood, libido, the endometriosis pains never returned thankfully. But now I experience resistance spikes during day 14 of my cycle and about a week before my period. Increasing boluses doesn't seem to affect the resistance much. I eat a whole foods plant based diet, 2 x 45 min exercise sessions daily plus lead an active life. During non-resistance times my levels are in range pre and post meal. During resistance times even with increasing basal and bolus it takes 8-10 hours for insulin to show any effect. As I eat every four hours it's really difficult to know where I am and what to dose.
My special nurses said they didnt know what to suggest, they said I should talk to my GP.
GP suggested a minera coil, saying the low dose hormone would 'stay in my womb' so I wouldn't experience the awful side effects I did on the pill. I'm not so sure...
I've read a few minera coil posts on here with women mostly negatively reporting especially about raised levels and having to increase doses. Which is what I'm doing anyway without a coil so I'm anxious having one fitted might exacerbate the problem.
I appreciate we all find hormones affect us differently, and I also feel it's my last hope so I should have it fitted a see what happens...but I want to know if anyone out there has had similar experiences and positive reports regarding the minera, specifically if it eased their resistance during their cycle?

I think it's very hard for anyone to tell you what will happen to your body if you take this, I have friends with positive experiences, but they are not type 1, personally it didn't work for me, low mood, loss of libido, insulin resistance, so gave it a year and came off it, all of this improved within a couple of days, I have heard another t1 here who had a good experience, so it really is just something you need to try for yourself to see if it's right, and if it isn't then have it removed
