Just been told my potassium level/s are ellevated so need another test in 3 weeks. No I don't eat a lot of bananas (the nurse asked). Not panicking but googling it not good idea!!!!
Been at Slimming World 4 weeks now and lost 8 lbs so far, eating much less carbs, blood sugars little bit better. Am motivated to say no more often to cakes, biscuits and sweets! I am normally a bit if a binge-er of such things. Trying to get out and do walks, even if they're short/slow ones. Had MUA of right shoulder which very much reduced pain and gave me more movement, have just been listed to get my left one done.
But fed up of health care professionals saying (more often) things like "as you get older......"
"Now you're (age)(or what I call the f-word, ie not 40)....this happens.....".
"Since you have been diabetic a long time (41 yrs).......this......and this......".
I consider middle age to be 60's and 70's and old age 80's and 90's, therefore I am not middle age yet!!!!!
On a serious note the thought that my years as a type 1, with not always good control and what it may have done to my body/life expectancy/complications etc-scares me silly.
I try my best to be as best I can is all I can do.

Have also been T1 for 42 years and hope I haven't done too much damage
