Hi, I’m writing this on behalf of my dad. He‘s 64, lives on his own and was told by his GP that he‘s ‘pre-diabetic‘. His HBA1C is between 40 and 45 over the last 2 years. Since then he‘s been rather panicked with what he should be eating and „getting it down“. But what‘s the aim? Is it OK to be in this level? Is the aim to get it below the pre-diabetic levels ? The nurse that did the blood test just told him to „eat less sugar“ but he‘s cut out 90% of all the „sugary“ things he was eating - getting a score of 43, but miserable because he‘s not eating the stuff he wants to eat. Can anyone give a bit of advice? What is the ideal HBA1C value and is it a massive problem if someone is „pre-diabetic“? Any tips?? Thanks Dave
