Pre diabetic meetings

My doctor told me that I have high blood sugar.I have started going to the pre diabetes meetings,I have been given the book with advice on diet and behaviour.I have read it and changed my diet,the book is very easy to understand I do not need to go to the 90 minute meetings to have a young girl explaining the simple advice.The NHS is paying a lot of money for these meetings they could just give a copy of the book to people and save a lot of money.

Hi David, I hope you are able to learn something from the book and take away some of the advice. I am with you on the diabetic meetings, I go to them to jump through hoops but rarely find them helpful or insightful. At least you have been given the tools now, so go forwards and apply them! There, that was easily said!! Best wishes.

Hi @David Paige I'm curious what advice are they giving now?

When I was diagnosed it was eat lots of meals a day, extra snack in-between meals, add plenty of carbs.

 

[Outlier]

Lots of people struggle with the written word and benefit from other people explaining things to them. Some people, like me and possibly you, find the written information easier. Hence while the meetings don't benefit us,they do help plenty of diabetics.
