pre meal level and post meal level

Hi its me again
It's day 2 of low carbs ( its hard as I'm hungry again within an hour or so) and so for tea I had mince meat onion and carrot all in a gravy with some barley n 4 small pots carb total 22 g. Pre level was 11.1 ( yay to salad at lunch as had bn 15-17) then 2 hrs after it at 16.3! So is a 5.2 increase not that bad of 22g of carbs on day total so far of 55g. I'm trying to do under 80g to start with as I'm so hungry n can't eat higher fat foods so can't just go down to30g a day.
What should my post meal level b at this early stage?
All so very confusing n hard.:(

Barley is pretty high in carbs and they are probably rapidly absorbed ones.
If yyou are hungry, try adding a bit more fat and greens.

Well done on cutting down on the carbs.
You will feel hungry initially but after a few days when your body has got used to the lower carb level that will start to pass. I now don't get hungry very often, it is usually a surprise to hear my tummy rumbling nowadays!!

When I do mince I fry a few sliced mushrooms and chopped courgette chunks in a bit of butter or margarine, sometimes with a bit of onion or peppers too. This gives you something to eat as an alternative to rice / pasta / potatoes etc. Celariac chunks work well like this too. Failing that try a few chunks of cauliflower.

Your pre-meal level of 11 is good, you are getting there. :clap:

Did you have a Doctor's appointment this morning? If so how did that go?
