Hi, and welcome to the forum. Personally I am not pre-occupied with food, but having belonged to a couple of slimming organisations in the past and even been to a Bariatric Surgery Support Group, I have known many who were pre-occupied with food.
If I have nothing to do, there might be a tendency to think about food, but I keep myself fairly busy and even in retirement I seem to be wondering how I managed with a full time job. It seems to be very much a case of mind over matter, almost like giving up smoking and drinking alcohol, both of which I managed (40 and 10 years ago) by convincing myself that I didn't have a choice, it was stop or be ill or die.
The mind is a canny little blighter and needs some serious controlling, something I struggle with at four o'clock in the morning when everything comes out negative.
