You really are only just over the edge of normal.
I am coming at this from the other direction - you should have an easy job - with any luck - simply look at the amount of sugar and starch you consume every day, and - unless it is gargantuan, replace half of it with lower carb options. Consider doing more walking if you are OK with that. I bought a trampoline as it is kinder on my joints and it serves as a mat I can kneel on - I can't kneel on hard surfaces.
With any luck you should see your next test in the normal range, but if not then I can only advise fewer carbohydrates and more exercise. For most type twos that is the way to negate diabetes and also to lose a bit of weight.
