I'm not a doctor but those levels look perfectly normal to me. However, don't listen to his dietary advice. A low carb diet, exercise and weight loss programme can only be good for your general health and hopefully prevent diabetes in the future, but no need to deprive yourself of the odd treat if you want it.  Just eat low carb and be sensible.
