Hi,

I'm in my late 20s and recently tested for having prediabetes.
I'm active and in the past year have been losing weight but I'm now, due to this I'm being more strict and watching my food more carefully.

I did a lot of reading on what I should and shouldn't be eating but my doctor hasn't given me much to go on. All I was told is to test again in 6 months time.

Should I have a diabetes nurse or dietitian to support in reversing this? Since being told I've been relying on a 'Mediterranean diet', cutting/reducing sugar and continue with gym multiple times a week.

Welcome @NadineRxx
The Mediterranean diet is a good place to start but it's not just sugar we have to worry about. Carbohydrates when digested will cause raised blood sugar so you need to be careful with breads, cereal, pasta, rice and most fruit.
I don't know about a dietitian or diabetic nurse for pre diabetes, they probably save the checks the nurse does for if you progress to T2. To be honest though, in my experience dietitians know very little about T2 and the nurse I see doesn't seem to know much more than dietitians.
Have a look at the link for the Nutritional thingy at the bottom of my post
