So on top off my Diabetes I also have Ulcerative Colitis, an Irritable Bowel Disease, and on the whole the two pretty much peacefully co-exist. However, my Colitis decided, in the days running up to my birthday (27th Nov) to start playing up and led to a full blown flare up. All very nasty business and I won't subject you fine people to the full horrors of what occurs.

Anyway, I'm now an 8 week course of Prednisolone and, joy of joys, that does not play well with my diabetes. 8 weeks of harder to control bloods for me, just in time for Christmas lol. This is going to be fun. :P

Okay so I knew this was going to be difficult, I've had to have an 8 week course of Prednisolone before so I know it causes havoc with my bloods, but this time it seems to be really awkward. Maybe it's because it's the first time I've been on them since I started really trying with my bloods? Anyway, I'm lucky if I get my bloods into the low teens atm, that's even when doing enough insulin to bring it down. The other day I was 27 and it took me three hours just to drop down to 16, got it down to 8 for lunch. Worked out exactly how many units to do for lunch to keep me at 8, included a few extra to compensate for the steroids and then shot all the way up to about 17 again. *sigh* It's gonna be a long couple of months for me......
