Prednisone Tablets

I have been given a course of Prednisone and antibiotics to start asap due to a flair up of my COPD and was wondering how other pumpers handle taking this, IE when would you start an increased temporary Basal rate and by how much? On injections I was having to give 10 units of Humalog to every 10 grams but my normal dose was 1 unit per 10 grams.

I was thinking of setting a 50% maybe 80% increase 3 hours after taking them and for a 6-7 hour period with an illness increase of Bolus by 50%.

It all depends on how much pred you need to take in one go. For me it works out to needing 2units to 1mg pred. When you take the pred in the morning it will hit your system by about 12pm then your basal will need a massive hike then. Obviously we are all different so trial and error is the name of the game.
