I found out at the weekend that I am pregnant  I did an early test last week and it was negative, so I assumed I was out for the month and did drown my sorrows in some comfort food /drink, I was quite naughty if I'm totally honest. Then when i had no period I did a test and - aaaargh - pregnant! Already my body is messing me around, being insulin resistant, is this normal in first trimester (I have been pregnant before but didn't find this last time) For example all the carbs I ate today was a small pitta bread and it shot me up to 12, that was after 6 u of novorapid too. Usually 12 woudln't be sooo high but now it is like - aargh - I'm killing the foetus! Also I got my hba1c today and it was 55 which isn't absolutely terrible but I like to keep it under 50 - I blame that one on christmas though. Got my first antenatal appointment next week and I know they'll go through all my readings so trying to get them as good as pos before then without going hypo - the only way I can do this is to avoid too many carbs. I just remember now the 8 months of hell with testing and hypoing all the time, and don't want to go through all that again but feel I have no choice. Anyone going through same?
