I phoned the doctor who told me to book in for my 12 weeks scan at the hospital but to do nothing different even though I have type 1 diabetes.
Is this your GP or a diabetic specialist?
1) Assuming you live in the UK.
2) Assuming you live near to a hospital with a diabetic clinic.
You need to contact that clinic and get put in touch with the diabetic pregnancy clinic (or whatever they call it).
I'm probably out of date (my youngest is 24) but I'd expect them to want to help you to get your bg levels as low as they can go, way before the 12 week test.
I don't see why they can't do this remotely (start keeping a record of food and glucose levels) and if you're not already using a libre then you should be able to get one on prescription now.
I wouldn't be too worried about the scan, though the folic acid is a slight concern.
Diabetically, the most important thing is to keep your blood sugars as normal as possible, and you should be able to do that remotely.
Congratulations and good luck.
