premature ejaculation

I have type 2 diabetes and take two 500g metformin tablets daily , ever since I have been taking these tablets I have been suffering from premature ejaculation,is this a side effect of the tablets & if so can anyone suggest a treatment for this complaint ,my diabetic nurse did ask if I had any problems with getting an erection or any other similar problems at my last diabetic review but I was too embarrassed to admit I had this condition
 
I don't know about your specific problem, but Ido know that problems with sexual function are common in diabetics. A nurse who knows to ask about problems is much better informed than most. I'd suggest you write down your details on a bit of paper and go see him/her. then if you are embarrassed, just hand over the bit of paper.. Don't just leave it, It's likely to cause distress to you and/or your partner.

Dave, don't be embarrassed about admitting your problem to your GP or DN. At the end of the day, they're there to help and will be able to potentially find a solution to your problem. Just gotta remember they've all seen the same thing a million times
 

Ah no dont be embarrassed, your doctor/nurse will have heard of this before and a whole load of other issues besides, you would be surprised.

Definately this need checking out as it is just one of the signs of an enlarged prostate. Also I would suggest asking for a PSA test if one isn't offered.
 
Re: premature ejaculation, I have the reverse problem, but on the plus side Metformin has helped me to get erections, I have been unable to orgasm through penetrative sex but have to finish off by hand so to speak.

Zinc is supposed to be good too I have heard.

Thank you for your Forum. Enlarged prostate, PE and blue pills prescribed, yet still having major difficulties.
Unsure who to speak to as finding the prostate, medication, high blood sugars triangle very difficult to negotiate.
It seems that all three must be in perfect synch and the moon in perfect alignment before a working erection is possible.

Overweight and 50 I know but too young for this part of my life to be over.
All serious suggestions welcome...
 
this is a problem for diabetics and the only help I've ever found is Viagra although docs will prescribe cheaper less effective medications unless there's any heart problems when usually these aren't safe but Viagra can still be used in most cases you need to ask your doctor before trying such medications.
 
I read a study that said metformin facilitates an erection.

I had an ejaculation problem after a long diabetes treatment. I returned to my doctor, he prescribed me Priligy which is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor or SSRI that is useful for men with inability to sustain ejaculation. Generic Priligy acts by extending the time of sexual intercourse. I have searched the net to better understand its effectiveness and side effects hence the reason for my purchase via e-24pharmacy.com could me so much explanation about the drug.
